Hi there, I'm Dmitri (Dev Djon) — a data scientist, writer, and creator who helps people master analytics, build digital products, and grow online.

PlotStack (previously the Intel Solutions newsletter) was a project I started back in university with the simple goal of sharing educational content and helping other data professionals along their career path. As I’ve grown, so has my platform.

Now, after building a community across platforms like Medium, MailerLite, and Gumroad, I decided it was time to bring everything under one roof through this new space, hosted by Beehiiv. So, welcome! If you’ve been part of this community I thank you for the ongoing support. If you stumbled across this post and have no clue who I am, I welcome you and encourage you to join the hundreds of other readers here (or don’t!).

What to Expect

Here’s what you can expect from being subscribed:

✔️ Real world tips in data science, analytics, and digital strategy
✔️ Power BI tutorials with real-world examples
✔️ Behind-the-scenes of how I grow my brand and income streams
✔️ Resources, freebies, and curated tools to save you time and effort

Newsletter issues are sent every other Monday ~7:15 AM (Local Time). Blog posts are sporadic.

I have a full time job and full time life. I’ll send 1–2 emails every month. No spam, just value. Eventually, yes, extra goodie content will be available on a paid subscription. Until then—enjoy the free show.

My content is curated from actual experience and many hours of R&D — not AI prompts or fantasy scenarios like “How to sell 1,000 ebooks in a week using AI”. You will never ever see that here.

About Me

I usually talk about myself at the end of these things to sift out the people just here for the highlights. So, thank you for making it this far.

My Career

I didn’t always know what I wanted to do. I didn’t have role models in my early adulthood to help guide me or inspire me professionally. So I made a lot of mistakes and wasted a lot of time. Which in hindsight I’m grateful for.

Early in my career I jumped between jobs, or held multiple of them, searching for something that felt fulfilling. I struggled to find a career that (1) held my interest long enough to commit to and (2) gave me a sense of satisfaction at the end of a work day. I knew I wanted to make an impact, but I just couldn’t see the right path forward.

That search eventually led me to the non-profit sector, where I worked with vulnerable populations across Orange County and Los Angeles — helping veterans experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, and individuals facing mental health challenges.

It was during this time that I discovered my fascination with data. I found myself drawn to projects involving numbers and data — identifying trends, uncovering insights, and using data to help my teams make decisions. I didn’t realize it then, but that was Business Intelligence and it was the missing piece I had been looking for in my career. I wouldn’t have known what BI or Data Science was until a few years later.

As time passed, I started to finally understand what people meant when they said “if you love what you do, it doesn’t feel like work” (yup, cheesy). Determined to turn this passion into a career, I went back to school and earned my Master’s in Data Science at the University of Wisconsin — La Crosse. During grad school, I was offered an opportunity in Business Intelligence at a Fortune 500 global company, where I’ve been happily working at since. I get to work with people all around the world, on projects spanning clean energy, facility management, and finance.

Currently I freelance, write, teach, and learn about the ever growing world of data and business. What I love about this field is its versatility — it allows me to work with different kinds of industries and people, solve unique problems, and never stop learning.

This newsletter is a one-person labor of love – if you like this and want to support my work, you could buy me a coffee! ☕
